Brazill Here He Comes!!!

Braydon called home today, a rare treat, it was sooo good to hear his voice! And of course he started the conversation of with teasing me, then he got down to business, he had a 5 minute time limit. His visa for Brazil arrived today, he will be leaving next Tuesday for the Brazil MTC. I think it was a little surreal for him, especially when he mentioned that he hadn't told anyone yet. We are excited and nervous for him!

The other exciting news, Colby asked a very nice girl to Homecoming! Atleast he has a couple of weeks to figure out some cool dance moves...

Memorial Day

Every Memorial Day my children and I drive back to my hometown, where I was born and raised. I wake them up at 4:30 AM, my mother and I drive them out to the cemetery where they participate in a service project of putting out over 900 full size flags for all the veterans who are buried there. Three of these flags are very special to me, two of which are my Grandfathers, and one of my Uncles. I had the privilege of putting up one of those this year, which was my Grandpa Clifford's.

His name is actually Clifford A. Byers, but his flag has been out here for many years and the tag is starting to wear off.

Flags line every pathway/road and up & down the middle of every stretch of grass, it always amazes me every year, you even hope for a little wind just so the flags will wave. I hope that my children know what a privilege it is to be able to do this, I know I do.
So... if you are ever driving past Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland, WA on Memorial Day, what a sight you will see, my pictures don't even start to do it justice!
